I like that there are various calendar views where I can see my logged time in different contexts.
That you can not copy an paste an entry to duplicate it onto a different column.
Reporting time to clients.
Being able to see other members of my team who are also on the same project
I find some of the colours quite hard to differentiate between
scheduling a busy team
I like the user interface of this software
I'm a little unclear as to exactly why I am to use this software
I am instructed to log my hours in Float and when I log my hours in Float, I am no longer reprimanded for not logging my hours in Float
Great and efficient way to keep track of hours worked, and time spent on various tasks.
I don't dislike anything about Float...
If working with different clients / on different projects, Float is a great tool as it makes accounting easier at the end of the month.
I like the graphs that visualise how much time you have worked.
I would like to have even more analytics
it helps us to allocate resources more effectively
To be able to see other people's projects and how much time I am to spend on each project.
There's no drop down menu to skip straight to my name.
It makes a clear understanding of who is working on what and for how long so I don't have to ask.
collaboration is expressed clearly in terms of who is working on what project
cannot input hours worked in contrast to hours allotted
management in terms of hours worked on a project
The 'shedule' feature. It helps me to organized my work during the week, and it allows me to see what my bosses have allocated me to in the following weeks. In general I found Float very intuitive and user friendly.
It would be great having integration with other platforms of similar use (e.g Monday)
It makes task management easier for myself and my boss either. It allows my boss to add and track what I'll be working on for the next weeks.
Everything is at a glance, problems can be resolved easily
There should be a shortcut, I dont want to always type my name in after the page refreshes itself
Mainly time- & projectmanagement
-Ease of use -Easy interface -Fast loading
Lack of integrations Lack of general project management view ( gant, burned hours, cash, etc )
We solve time tracking . We track time more easily with float.
The views are super simple, and the search feature lets you customize your view to easily display what you need. The products help filter by the resources you need to see and breaks the booking out by colour to allow you to quickly differentiate.
Given my user access permissions are limited I do not have any cons to report.
An easy way to spread workload between employees and identify upcoming work overloads or capacity issues.
I really like the colours and how Float displays the overall info. Also the reports are quite useful.
I can not import a calendar to get information from, for instance, Google Calendar.
We have now the control of what is happening with each project/person in a simple view.
Pretty straight forward, what it does it does really well.
Somewhat limited in features and functionality. Not the most flexible tool out there.
Better than using spreadsheets.
User interface Allocations module : easiness
Reports section (templates and limited options)
Allocations
Float allows for easy capacity management of employees. It's simple, no frills.
The functionalities are limited and the visuals could be improved.
Employee resource capacity management. This enables easy knowledge at all levels of resources who are available or not.
The app is very polished, and I often get the feeling apps are very bloated, but this app works very well. It is simple, and does not have too many features, but that's good compared to trying to do this in other software. We used to use outlook to manually signal when we would use PTO or be on projects, but now it's all in one place.
The schedule view is a bit cumbersome, since there is so much data represented. It can feel cumbersome scrolling through two dimensions of time and all of our users trying to find anything.
We are able to see in one place who is on what project, and using PTO. We are not using it to its full potential for sure. We've needed a dedicated tool for this, but it is hard to see the benefit without trying.
That the software is really fast, even for a big organisation. The filter works great for everything.
I can't figure out how to add national holidays for an organisation. It is not convenient to do it separately for each person.
Better planning people's occupancy. Having someone 100% occupied, while another one - 60% is a great overview how to improve the work for each person.
Overall visibility, able to see how my time is allocated for the week across several projects
Lack of ability to shift my own schedule
Allocating time between multiple projects
Different functionalities like assigning team members and color for each team so the visibility is great. Tags are also cool, I can search for similar projects to see how long they took.
The project set up takes a few minutes but once you're done you can easily change task and put different milestones.
Project management, it helps us keep track of the timings.
all daily tasks are easily visible, I like possibility to requests holidays via Float
not possible to copy tasks for whole month, not possible to create monthly repeated tasks
overview, who doeas what in mine team,
